DAY 1

ARRIVAL TMC – RATENGGARO VILLAGE – WEEKURI LAKE – MANDORAK BEACH

Upon arrival at the airport of Tambolaka in Waitabula, meet and greet with your driver and guide, Explore Sumba Team. Before starting our journey, we will go to the local restaurant for lunch first. First visit will be Ratenggaro Village. Here we will see the traditional high rooftops houses (actually the highest rooftops in whole Sumba) made all by hand and traditionally. This village is the only one of a few traditional villages left in the area, and while the village is just a compound of some houses, each house can accommodate up to 50 family members. On the harvesting season, however, most of the villagers will stay in their field to work and only leave the elders and child in the village. This village is beautiful because it built in front of the beach. After that we will make a visit to Weekuri Lake, a crystal-clear lake that makes it a great place to swim and to relax. Spend some time in the lake for taking a short (or long) dip. Do not miss to walk around the rocks and reef where you can also see the Oceans from one side. Next to the Weekuri Lake we will find Mandorak Beach, guarded with 2 huge rock ridges pointing to the middle and crystal-clear water. Then we go to the hotel to check – in.

DAY 2

LAPOPU WATERFALL – ANAKALANG VILLAGE – WAIRINDING HILL

After breakfast and check out today, we will drive to East Sumba. On the way we will make some visits. First we will go to Waikacura area, to do a short trekking in the ricefield, where you also can enjoy the beautiful view of the small river located in the middle of the ricefield. Then we go to the local restaurant for lunch. Next on our adventure will be Lapopu Waterfall. After a drive through the endless hilly and green landscape of Sumba, you will arrive nearby the waterfall. To visit the waterfall, you will need to do a small hike of approximately 15 minutes and cross a bamboo bridge to get there. Then we will continuing our journey to Anakalang to visit Pasunga Village, where we can find the big megalithic tomb of late Sumba’s king here. After that drive to East Sumba for about 3 hours, and stop at Wairinding Hill to enjoy the sunset. Then we go to hotel to check in and rest.

DAY 3

SAVANAH PURU KAMBERA – TANGGEDU WATERFALL – WALAKIRI BEACH

Breakfast at hotel, and we will visit Savannah Puru Kambera, a beautiful savannah in East Sumba that you have to visit when you are in Sumba. If you lucky, on the way we will see a lot of animals walk around the area like horses, buffalos, cows, etc. After this we are heading to Tanggedu Waterfall, another beautiful waterfall in East Sumba. To get into this waterfall is not easy, 1 hour trekking, but the view that you will get along the way is amazing. Your lunch box will be prepared. After the long trekking, we will visit Walakiri beach, relax on the beach until the time you want to back to the hotel.

DAY 4

OUT WGP AIRPORT

After breakfast, at the appointed time based on your flight’s schedule, our guide and driver will take you to the airport to catch your flight to the next destination.
